UAE residence visa for students studying abroad in 2022

UAE residence visa for students studying abroad in 2022

To study in the UAE, a foreign national (other than one from the GCC) must apply for a UAE Student Visa. The procedure of applying for a visa is handled by the school, so first they must be accepted into a higher education program in the UAE.

In order to be granted a Dubai student visa for the UAE, you must meet a number of requirements and provide supporting documentation.

- A number of copies of your passport, as well as your passport itself

- Several photos the size of a passport. Be ready because you might require up to 12.

- The letter of acceptance from the UAE college or university.

- Documentation demonstrating your ability to pay your tuition and living expenses.

- A medical certificate from a UAE health facility that has received government approval. All applicants who are older than 18 must go through medical testing for leprosy, syphilis, leukemia, hepatitis B and C, HIV, and TB.

- Evidence of housing, such as a lease or proof of student housing - If you're enrolling for a post-graduate degree, evidence of your former school's accreditation is also required.

Remember that different emirates and universities have different rules for visa applications. Just the most typical paperwork needed is included below. The complete list of all the documents you will require is finally given to you by your institution.

Your school makes arrangements to obtain your UAE Student Visa from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) if you have been admitted into a higher education institution in the UAE. The college or university must be accredited in order for them to be able to apply for the visa on your behalf.

Your school can only obtain the UAE Student Visa for you once you have arrived in the nation because it is a form of a resident visa. This means that you must first obtain an admission permit in order to study.

You might need to obtain an entry permit before you can enter the UAE, depending on your nation. Your admission permission is sponsored by your school as well. The following portals are available for them to apply through:

- The Federal Identity and Citizenship Administration

- The Chanel gateway of the ICA

- The Apple and Android mobile applications

either in person or online through the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs - GDRFA (see the websites listed below). If your host wants to submit an application in person, they must do so through one of the Amer centers in Dubai or one of the GDRFA's authorized typing centers located in each Emirate. Your school must make arrangements for you to obtain a Dubai student visa, also known as a student residence visa, once you have arrived in the country.

Applying for a Dubai student visa

At the GDRFA office of the relevant emirate where you will reside, your college or university applies for your UAE Student Visa in order to study in Dubai. In the event that your application is accepted, the GDRFA will stamp a residence visa on your passport and provide you with an Emirates ID that is valid for the same period as the visa.

Remember: You may not automatically be granted a visa just because you have been admitted to a higher education program in the UAE. Your school has no control over the decision; rather, the UAE immigration authorities do.

A Dubai student visa is typically granted for a period of one year, and it may be extended once a year for the remainder of your studies. You must certification from your institution that you are still a student in order to renew your student visa. However, the UAE government introduced a new kind of long-term residence visa in 2018 that is given to exceptional or excellent pupils. The duration of this kind of visa is five years.

A UAE student visa with a 5-year validity period is available to you if you are an excellent student with a high GPA. The requirements are as follows:

- Graduates of secondary education: In either a public or private secondary school, you must have a minimum GPA of 95%. This kind of Dubai student visa also permits the holder to bring dependents.

- For university graduates: You must have a GPA of at least 3.75 from a university in or outside the UAE. Only those who also secure a UAE Work Permit are permitted to work in the UAE while on a student visa. You are also only permitted to labor for a total of four hours in a row; you cannot work full-time.

Prior to this judgment, overseas students were only permitted to work during internship programs that were approved by their institution. A student visa is required if you are a male over the age of 18 and want to continue your higher education in a college or university in the UAE.

This is so that males who have turned 18 and are still on their parents' visas must leave the country. The UAE government did, however, introduce a new policy for the dependent sons of UAE visa holders in 2018.

According to the new regulation, you are qualified for a 1-year UAE Residence Visa that can be extended for an additional year once you have finished your secondary education or attained the age of 18, whichever comes first. As long as they are single, daughters of any age can continue to be supported by their fathers.

As long as they can afford acceptable housing and have the financial resources to support them, overseas university students are now permitted to bring their families to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) under a modification to the country's residency visa requirements.

The revision is the most recent of a slew of modifications to UAE residency visa legislation that the UAE Cabinet has made in an effort to draw in new foreign residents, mainly to the emirate of Dubai, in the wake of the economic turmoil brought on by the coronavirus outbreak. Student residence visas for the UAE for one or five years

With more than 77 universities and tens of thousands of students each year, the UAE has developed into an important regional educational hub. The new policy permits international students to sponsor and bring their families whenever they can afford to do so.

Students from abroad who are above 18 and living in the UAE and who are sponsored by a parent or recognized university are granted a one-year student visa. Outstanding students may apply for a long-term visa of up to five years under the "gold" visa program for long-term residency.
