British Columbia provincial Nominee program in 2023

The westernmost province of Canada is called British Columbia, and it is bordered by mountain ranges and the Pacific Ocean. The economy of British Columbia is robust, varied, and multicultural, providing both individuals and businesses with room to thrive. British Columbia is beautiful because of its diverse landscape and local climates. The immigration nominee program called the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC-PNP) offers chances for foreign students, skilled professionals, and entrepreneurs to settle in BC. With the help of this program, the province recommends qualified and experienced individuals, providing them with a British Columbia immigration program Provincial Nomination Certificate that they can use to apply for Canadian permanent residency.

There are two main immigration streams under the BC-PNP:

Immigration of professionals (including Fast Entry BC) for graduates and international workers.

Entrepreneur Business Immigration

Immigration Streams with Skills

Candidates in the Skilled Immigration Stream have the skills, work experience, and qualifications necessary to fill the labor shortages faced by BC firms. The following categories are part of the BC-PNP Skilled Immigration stream:

Worker Category: Skilled Candidates must first accept a legitimate job offer from a B.C. employer in order to be eligible for this category. To be eligible, your employment offer must be in a NOC skilled occupation (Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A or B). Also, the candidate should have the necessary education and at least two years of relevant professional experience.

Health professional Category

Medical, nursing or allied health professionals must have relevant experience or a current job offer from a public health authority to be eligible for the healthcare professional category. You must receive a job offer for one of the 11 health jobs that qualify and have at least two years of related experience.

Graduates from qualifying Canadian universities who graduated within the previous three years are eligible for the international graduate category. Applicants must possess a legitimate job offer from a BC employer. To be eligible, your employment offer must be in a NOC skilled occupation (Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A or B).

International Post-Graduate Category: To be eligible for this category, applicants must have recently earned their Master's or Doctorate degrees in the natural, applied, or health sciences from a British Columbia university that is recognized as such. To apply for permanent residency under this category, candidates do not need to have an employment offer.

Workers in the tourism/hospitality, food processing, or long-haul trucking industries are eligible to apply for permanent residency in British Columbia under the entry-level and semi-skilled worker category. Candidates must first accept a legitimate employment offer in order to be considered for this category. Also, before applying, individuals must have worked for their job for at least nine months straight.

1. System for Registration of Skill Immigration (SIRS)

You must register with SIRS prior to submitting your application for the BC PNP's Skilled Immigration stream. Only candidates who fall under the categories of skilled workers, international graduates, entry-level workers, and semi-skilled workers are required to register. Healthcare professionals and International Post-Graduate applicants can submit their applications immediately through BCPNP Online. A point-based system called SIRS aids the British Columbia immigration program in nominating applicants who can satisfy the demands of the labor market. B.C. evaluates your work, language proficiency, education, pay, and location through registration.

- The employer's stated yearly salary

- The location where you work

- Your ability to settle in British Columbia will depend on a number of factors, including:

- relevant work history

- Education level

2. British Columbia express Entry

To speed up the processing of BC-PNP applications, the BC Express Entry stream is connected to the federal Express Entry System. Under this route, nominated candidates can get an Invitation to Apply and be granted permanent resident status in British Columbia first. Just the following categories of Skilled Immigration may be processed through EEBC:

- Healthcare Professional Category International Graduate Category Skilled Worker Category

- Post-Graduate International Category Canadian Columbia BC-PNP: Provincial Nominee Program

Only candidates who fall under the EEBC-Skilled Worker and EEBC-International Graduate categories must register with SIRS; candidates who fall under the other two categories may apply online directly. 

Before registering, create an Express Entry profile with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). After confirming your eligibility, submit an application for any of the following:

Program for Federally Skilled Trades (FSTP) and Federal Skilled Workers (FSW) (FSWP)

Class with Canadian Experience (CEC)

Once IRCC verifies your eligibility, you will be given an Express Entry profile number and a Job Seeker validation code. Following that, you can sign up with BCPNP to begin the next round of the immigration procedure.

Business Immigration

The Entrepreneur Immigration stream seeks to attract new immigrants who can foster innovation and economic development in the province and make them permanent residents of Canada. There are two types in this stream:

1. The BC-PNP, or the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program, is for entrepreneurs.

International employees, business owners, and graduates are invited to apply for permanent residency in British Columbia through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP).

Applicants must be senior managers or business owners willing to invest money in a firm in British Columbia to be eligible for this category. o Regional Entrepreneur Immigration Pilot Program: Through this initiative, foreign business owners are allowed to open new operations in British Columbia's rural or small towns. The objective is to support local economic growth and increase investment outside of urban areas. o Entrepreneur Immigration-Base Category – Under this category, foreign businesspeople can start a new company in British Columbia or buy an existing one. 

You must meet the following requirements to be eligible:

- Personal Prerequisites

- possess a personal wealth of at least $600,000 CAD

- possess business and management expertise

- possess language skills in either English or French that are at least equivalent to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 4

- Prerequisites for Business and Investment

- Create a new business that qualifies or buy an existing one.

- Make a minimum of CAD $200,000 in eligible personal investments in the company.

- Provide at least one full-time position in the company to a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

2. Category of Strategic Projects

Foreign firms that have located key investment possibilities in British Columbia may set up shop under this category in order to expand their operations. Up to five management, professional, or technical staff members may apply for Canadian permanent residency in British Columbia under this category for the purpose of starting a business.
